โฆ Synopsis
Jiirgensens proposal of altering my Escapement to two wheels instead of one, instead of being a reduction of friction, appears to me to be an increase of i t , and certainly more labour and expense.
What can he mean by a reduction of friction in t h e manner I have made my Timekeepers? Some of the oldest of them which have been going for more than 40 years do n o t exhibit the least wear on the pallets, on which the wheel acts.
Is not this something like proof that the friction he mentions, does not exist? If he still holds the samc opinion let him make it, and I most heartily wish, h:in sucxl's in his endeavours of directing the wandering sailor in his right way acrofs the trac1:Iefs ocean.
