β¦ Synopsis
The susceptibility of a Kondo lattice has been theoretically examined. An instability condition against magnetic orderings gives an upper limit of the strength of attractive interactions due to RKKY exchange interactions in paramagnetic states; intrasite interactions causing the Kondo effect were included in the approximation that reproduces the Kondo temperature, while intersite RKKY interactions were treated in the mean field approximation. It has been argued that attractive interactions due to RKKY exchange interactions can compete with the on-site Coulomb repulsion, if the systems are near to antiferromagnetic instability.
