✦ Synopsis
A group of patients with anorexia nervosa was evaluated with the same psychological measures at hospital admission and discharge and at short-term follow-up. Negative attitudes at admission about sexuality, one's body, personality, and social skills were predictive of negative attitudes at follow-up about these factors and a greater degree of overall personality disturbance at follow-up. The implications of these findings for the treatment of anorexia nervosa are discussed.
