A THEORY OF REACTIVE CONTROL OF LOW-FREQ

A theoretical prediction is undertaken for low-frequency duct noise control by a compact reactive mu%er. The mu%er achieves a pressure-release condition over a broad frequency band (from near zero to the "rst cut-on frequency of the duct) by four #ush-mounted pistons, one on each duct wall, with a s

PREDICTION OF LOW-FREQUENCY TONES PRODUC
โœ S.M. GRACE ๐Ÿ“‚ Article ๐Ÿ“… 2000 ๐Ÿ› Elsevier Science ๐ŸŒ English โš– 357 KB

A method is presented for predicting the frequencies of tones produced by high Reynolds number, subsonic #ow through a duct with a gap. An inviscid, linear model of the #uid motion is developed in which the shear layer delimiting the jet formed between the inlet and exit of the duct gap is modelled
