β¦ Synopsis
Our paper describes radio-waΒ¨e propagation through a forest. The transmitter and receiΒ¨er are situated in the forest medium. It was found that two mechanisms of propagation depend on the transmit-terαreceiΒ¨er distance. At short distances, the direct waΒ¨e dominates. The mechanism at large distances is similar to waΒ¨e propagation along the earth surface. The estimation of the effectiΒ¨e complex permittiΒ¨ity of a forest is obtained.

## Abstract Biologically active ultraviolet (UVER, 280β400 nm) and global (300β3000 nm) solar irradiances have been recorded and analysed in a rural area in Valladolid (Spain) for a period of 49 months between June 2002 and December 2008. UVER daily measurements follow the pattern of the solar elev
