✦ Synopsis

Industries dier in how homogeneous they are in terms of managerial cognitions. This study draws upon the concept of discretion, arguing that the more latitude managers have in an industry, the more varied their companies' attention patterns will be. Focusing on 14 industries assessed as diering widely in their discretion, we measured intraindustry attentional homogeneity using Computer Assisted Text Analysis of letters to shareholders in corporate annual reports. As expected, the greater the discretion in an industry, the less the attentional homogeneity.

Thirty-five male volunteers (18 nicotine-users and 17 controls) participated in an experiment where a flanker task and a search task were used. It was hypothesized that if nicotine affects selective attention, the effects of distracting flanker stimuli should be diminished, and effects of allocation

The change in melt flow properties, as determined by melt index measurement, as a function of shear history, has been measured for linear polyethylene. It is shown that a drop in melt index occurs when a polymer sample which has had no previous shear history is melted and subjected to shear mixing.

## Abstract This study was designed to seek hypnotizability‐related differences in attention temporal dynamics. For this purpose, an iconic version of the Attentional Blink Task (AB) was performed on 18 highly (Highs, score 9–12, SHSS form C) and 18 low susceptible individuals (Lows, score 0–3). Th

In the framework of the inverse problem of dynamics, we face the following question with reference to the motion of one material point: Given a region T orb of the xy plane, described by the inequality g(x, y) ≀ c0, are there potentials V = V (x, y) which can produce monoparametric families of orbit
