Methanol adsorption on silica \(\left(388 \mathrm{~m}^{2} / \mathrm{g}\right.\) ) is independent of the ionic strength and decreases with increase of \(\mathrm{pH}\). Maximum adsorption of \(\approx 0.5 \mathrm{mmol} / \mathrm{g}\) is observed at initial methanol concentration of \(\approx 2.5 \math
