Abstract

Raytheon has employed Six Sigma, traditionally used for improving manufacturing processes, as a broad tool
for creating customer value and changing culture. The HR function has also successfully applied Six Sigma to
make the company's people management processes more efficient, cost‐effective, and
user‐friendly, with the added benefit of enhancing HR's role as a full business partner with the
line organization. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
