✦ Synopsis

we study two point boundary value problems for second-order differential equations that have no solution if a boundary condtion is imposed at z = 0, but that do have a solution of boundary layer type if the boundary condition is given at z = e, for small, positive values of s. The study is motivated by various models for fluid flow past a small object.
