## Abstract We investigate the effect of temperature dependence of the viscosity on the stability of the adiabatic shearing flows of an incompressible Newtonian viscous fluid between two parallel plates. When the viscosity strongly decreases with temperature, the shearing flow caused by a steady mo
## Abstract We consider an initial boundary value problem for the system of equations describing nonβstationary flows of incompressible asymmetric fluids. We prove the existence of a local in time, weak solution of the problem in the case when the initial density is not separated from zero by a pos
The stability of steady shear flows of some viscoelastic fluids relative to small perturbations in the initial data is examined. It is shown that at all values of the steady shear rate where the flow curve exhibits a zero or negative slope the flow is unstable. This conclusion is corroborated by exi
