the mappings based on minimization of functional (1') are always one-to-one. To construct meshes in non-convex domains, the latter can be divided into a series of convex or near-convex domains and the elastic-web method employed for each subdomain.

Notice finally that these algorithms can be extended to the case of any topology of meshes and mapped domains, and also to a greater number of space dimensions.
