## Abstract Several novel prolylprolinol catalysts have been designed and synthesized. This type of compound showed high catalytic efficiency on promoting the direct addition of unmodified aldehydes to nitroalkenes. Among the catalysts surveyed, the least bulky member (**8d**) exhibited the best pe
