Asymmetric Alkylation of N-Pivaloyl-o-benzylaniline. -Using sBuLi and (-)-sparteine, excellent yields and up to 76% e.e. in favor of the (S)-enantiomer are obtained by alkylation of compound (I) with alkyl halides or a tosylate.
