✦ Synopsis
Metal atom beams of Al, Ba, Ta and Ti formed by cathode sputtering have been rmcted with an 0, mo!ecu-k beam, and the positive ionic products measured. The folIowing processes have been observed:
M+Oz+MO~+e-(associative ionization),
(electron transfer ionizhtion) , mr)
and the product ion angular distributions measurek For some of the systems the depeadence of praduct ion intensity on the velocity of the reactant metal atom was determined. Initial results are presented on the angular distributions for non-velocity selected metal atom beams, and on the threshold energies for some of the processes.
