## Abstract Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) is a serum enzyme closely associated with high‐density lipoprotein (HDL), which may protect against atherosclerosis by hydrolyzing lipid peroxides and several organophosphorus compounds. The purpose of the present study was to test the hypothesis that lipid peroxida
