## Abstract Epidemiological observations suggest that cancer arises from chronically inflamed tissues. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a typical example since patients with longstanding IBD are at increased risk for development of colorectal cancer (CRC). Therefore, genetic factors predisposing
