## Abstract The complete assignment of the ^1^H and ^13^C spectra of 2‐__exo__‐ and 2‐__endo__‐nor‐bornenemethanol is presented. Resonance assignment was achieved using ^1^H–^1^H double resonance, COSY and ^1^H/^13^C correlation spectra. Computer simulations of the H‐2 (__exo__ or __endo__) proton

✦ Synopsis
The 'H and 13C NMR spectra of 1,4-diazaphenanthrene (benzo[f]quinoxaline) (1) and some of its derivatives have been fully assigned and most of the coupling constants have been measured. The compounds examined bear a piperidino or methoxy group at the 2or 3-position, or a chlorine atom at the 2-, 3-or 9-position. The spectra of the N-1-oxides of 1 and of 1,4,5,Wetraazaphenanthrene are also given. The syntheses are described.
