An atmosphere-ocean climate box model is used to examine the influence of cloud feedback on the equilibria of the climate system. The model consists of three non-linear ordinary differential equations, which are simplified forms of the first law of thermodynamics for the atmosphere and ocean and the

β¦ Synopsis
Human activity is exerting an increasing influence on the hydrological cycle. In order to avoid adverse impacts and to establish optimum conditions for the water balance, it is necessary to understand the role of environmental parameters in influencing the hydrological cycle. Work is currently in progress in China to study the relationships between environmental parameters and the hydrological cycle to provide a basis for planning future development.

The influence of the sleep-awake cycle of the rat on the apparent hypnotic effects of two benzodiazepine hypnotics, triazolam (short half-life) and flurazepam (long half-life), was assessed. Cortical electroencephalographic recordings from freely moving animals were used to determine whether the rat
## Abstract This paper reviews the effects of deforestation on the hydrological cycle in Amazonia according to recent modeling and observational studies performed within different spatial scales and resolutions. The predictions that follow from future scenarios of a complete deforestation in the re
## Abstract This study investigated using Monte Carlo simulation the interaction between a linear trend and a lagβone autoregressive (AR(1)) process when both exist in a time series. Simulation experiments demonstrated that the existence of serial correlation alters the variance of the estimate of
