## Abstract Hydrological simulation and assessment in a damโsluice regulated river basin are a complex and challenging issue. In this article, an improved SWAT2000 modelling system was developed that incorporated the Shuffled complex evolution (SCEโUA) optimization algorithm and the multiโsite and
