This fully revisedΒ third edition introduces geostatistics by emphasising the multivariate aspects for scientists, engineers and statisticians. Geostatistics offers a variety of models, methods and techniques for the analysis, estimation and display of multivariate data distributed in space or time.

β¦ Synopsis
In geostatistics, one of the crucial problems is the choice of the covariance function. In this paper we show how to improve the cross-validation criterion, traditionally used for evaluating the ΓΏt of a covariance function, in the case of unequally spaced data.
