โฆ Synopsis
Aspects of a pump shaft seal design
Development of the Liquidyne pump shaft seal for the dredging industry began about 10 years ago. Characterised by its separation of functions, the seal can withstand loads from high peripheral velocity and high pressure differential, is highly resistant to wear and is lubricated by the same water against which it provides a seal. IHC Lagersmit provides a look at some the key aspects of the design for successful operation in a harsh environment.
