Fellow officers, members of the Board of Directors, committee chairmen, members of our Society, and guests. It is a distinct honor and pleasure for me to welcome you to the 10th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, which is being held at the beautiful Opryland Hotel in my home town of Nashville, Tennessee.

Known to many as "Music City, USA.", Nashville is home to the world famous Grand Ole Opry, which has been broadcast over the airways since 1925, captivating millions of fans by the music and magic of what is known as country music's "show of shows." Nashville is also home to Vanderbilt University and its Medical Center, which attracted Jim Duncavage and me here slightly over three and a half years ago.
