03 Gaseous fuels (derived gaseous fuels) W/O0149 Influence of promoters on the erformances of Nibased catalyst for CO2 reforming of met R ane Li, J. et al. Tianranqi Huagong, 1999, 24, (3) 25-27. (In Chinese) The effect of promoters, namely, MgO, CaO, LazOs and CezOs) to Nibased catalysts for COz reforming of methane to syngas was investigated using a temperature programmed technique (TPR, TPO) and a test of its catalytic performance.

The results demonstrated that MgO and CezOs were more effective for conversion of CHz and CO*. The best promoter for the suppression of carbon deposition was CezOs.

Integrated technology for comprehensive development of gas-bearing coal deposits

Krasiuk, N. N. ef al. Ugol ', 1999, 1, 13-16. (In Russian) The technologies for the degassing of coal beds and coal bed methane utilization are reviewed.

W/W151

Methane fermentation technology for organic sludge and garbage Okaniwa, Y. ef nl. Sumiromo Jukikai Giho, 1999, 47, (140), 43-46. (In Japanese)

The WAASA process is applied to excess activated sludge from night soil treatment, septic tank sludge and garbage. The WAASA process is a methane fermentation process for high concentration organic waste, (lo-15%). The methane gas that is produced can be used as a fuel for generating electric power.

WI00152 Production of hydrogen from dry coking gas and process improvement

Cui, C. Gongye Cuihua, 1999, 7, (2) 52-57. (In Chinese) Described in this paper is the operation of a hydrogen plant at Nanjing Refinery that for feedstock utilizes dry coking gas. To solve the problem of unstable operation and limitation to use of dry coking gas caused by excessive sulfur in the feed gas, it is recommended that the capacity of hydrofining and desulfurization reactors be expanded and that the hydrogen plant uses a mixture of dry hydrogenation gas and dry coking gas as a feedstock.

A one-dimensional heat transfer method was used to determine the thermal conductivity for a range of coal ash and synthetic ash samples at elevated temperatures. The effect of parameters such as temperature, porosity, and sintering time were investigated. The thermal conductivity of the samples was
