The crystal field parameters for Eu2+ associated wivith a defect along (110) in RbCl are reported. The widths of the hyperfine lines increase abnormally as one moves from the center of the spectrum to either ends. This abnormality is related to probable off-center positions of Eu2+ in the lattice.
