โœฆ Synopsis

The influence of promoters such as ZnO, Ga203, Fe20 3 and Cr20 3 on the aromatization of n-hexane over H-ZSM-5 is reported. While ZnO and Ga20 3 increase aromatization, Fe20 3 and Cr20 3 decrease the aromatization. The addition of N 2 to the feed increases aromatization over H-ZSM-5, while H 2 decreases aromatization. Increasing the total pressure to 15 bars does not significantly decrease the yield of aromatics. Investigations on the influence of the promoters, added gas and total pressure on the rate of deactivation of the catalyst are also reported.

The interactions between gallium and H-ZSM-5 on gallium-supported H-ZSM-5 catalysts were investigated. Gallium was introduced into H-ZSM-5 by impregnation [Ga/Z5(im)] and physical mixing [Ga/Z5(mix)]. Temperature-programmed desorption studies of ammonia show that the number of strong acid sites (HTP
