Sorbent process removes sulfur from diesel

Phillips Petroleum is now licensing its S Zorb process, which can accommodate various feedstocks while operating at moderate pressures (275500 psig) and nominal temperatures (700-800°F). The first commercial S Zorb unit was installed in Borger, TX, at the 6000 bbl/day Phillips plant, which processes a debutanized full-range FCC stream to below 10 ppm of sulfur.
