The new indole alkaloid aristoserratine (2) has been isolated from Aristotelia. Its structure and absolute configuration were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data.

## Abstract Another representative of this group of alkaloids, aristoteline (**2**), was also isolated from __A. peduncularis__. This natural compound has previously been isolated from __A. serrata__ and __A. chilensis__.
