The reaction of PhN 3 (H)C 6 H 4 N 3 (H)Ph with Hg(NO 3 ) 2 in THF in the presence of triethylamine yields {Hg[PhN 3 C 6 H 4 N 3 (H)Ph](NO 3 )} as a yellow powder that can be recrystallized from THF/acetone. The crystals belong to the monoclinic system, space group P2 1 with the cell dimensions a ϭ
