β¦ Synopsis
A body of results is given concerning the character of the response of systems represented by discrete-time approximately-"nite-memory input}output maps G with input and outputs de"ned on +0, 1, 2 ,. Conditions are given under which, for example, the system's output approaches a limit as kPR whenever the input does. Of particular interest are theorems that concern the existence and properties of a certain unique extension of G to a corresponding domain of functions de"ned on all of + 2 , !1, 0, 1, 2 ,. The theorems lead to a general proposition that characterizes the response of a very large class of non-linear systems to asymptotically periodic inputs.

We consider multidimensional shift-invariant input-output maps G from a relatively compact set of functions S to a set of real-valued functions, and we give criteria under which these maps can be uniformly approximated arbitrarily well using a certain structure consisting of a not-necessarily linear
The purpose of this paper is to examine the problem of controlling a linear discrete-time system subject to input saturation in order to have its output track (or reject) a family of reference (or disturbance) signals produced by some external generator. It is shown that a semi-global framework, rat
