✦ Synopsis

The Saha equation for a plasma in thermodynamic equilibrium (TE) is approximately solved to give the temperature MI an explicit function of population densities. It is shown that the derived expressions for the Saha temperature are valid approximations to the exact solution. An application of the approximate temperature to the calculirtion of TE plasma parameters is also described.
