✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The numerical fatigue assessment of seam welded joints is of significant importance in automotive industry. In order to use the fatigue concepts, which are available in the literature, in series calculations, they usually have to be implemented into commercial software programmes. In the following contribution the possibilities available are discussed with respect to the needs in automotive industry. No specific commercial software will be discussed in detail. At the end open questions for developments necessary in the future will be addressed.

## Abstract In the present paper a method is described for the fatigue assessment of multi‐axial loaded welded joints in structures made from thin steel sheets. The focus is on seam welds under non‐proportional loading, assuming a constant angular phase shift between cycles leading to stress compon

## Abstract Modeling of spot‐welding connection is very important in automotive crash analysis, as spot welding is the main approach to assemble the automobile body from hundreds of press‐formed components. Although alternative methods are available for modeling the spot welding, new methods are de
