La vaccination represente la meilleure approche pour le contrCle des meningites 9. meningocoque. Los vaccins polysaccharidiques meningococciques sont efficaces vis-&-vis des serogroupes ACY et W 135 mais inefficaces chez los enfants de moins de 2 ans. Le vaccin conjugue meningococcique du groupe C est immunogenique chez les enfants de moins de 2 ans.

Contribution of the meningococcal vaccines

Prevention through vaccination remains the best approach to control meningococcal disease. Polysaccharide meningococcal vaccine is efficacious against diseases caused by serogroups ACY and W 135 but is ineffective in infants and children aged < 2 years. Conjugate meningococcal C vaccine is immunogenic in children of less than two years.
