✦ Synopsis

In this paper, we will use the Schur algorithm to compute a solution to the Kaftal-Larson-Weiss mixed (H^{2}-H^{\infty}) problem in the Nehari setting. First we will use the Schur algorithm to solve a mixed (H^{2}-H^{\infty}) Carathéodory interpolation problem. By passing limits, we will then obtain an explicit formula in terms of Hankel matrices to solve the rational (H^{2}-H^{\infty}) Nehari problem. Explicit solutions in terms of minimal state space realization will be given. 1993 Academic Press, Inc.

In this paper we present a new and elementary approach for proving the main results of Katz (1996) using the Jordan-Pochhammer matrices of Takano andBannai (1976) andHaraoka (1994). We find an explicit version of the middle convolution of Katz (1996) that connects certain tuples of matrices in linea

It is shown that individual (state-to-state) S-matrix elements can be generated from the 1,l element of the inverse of a small tridiagonal matrix. The tridiagonal matrix is produced via the Lanczos algorithm from discretized integral equations for the amplitude density. The convergence of 1 S,., I\*
