The procedure for estimation of a singly truncated sample drawn from a normal distribution is applied to the analysis of DNA distribution histograms obtained from flow microfluorometry (FMF1. The method improves the accuracy of the estimation of the parameters for the pre-DNA synthesis stage. Simulated FMF histograms as well as actual experimental histograms are used to test the accuracy of the estimation method.
