✦ Synopsis

Positron lifetime (LS) and IR spectroscopies have been used to study solutions of N-benzoyl-N-phenyl hydroxylamme in various solvents. The LS results show an inhibition ofpositronium formation, but no quenching effect by the solute. A total inhibition process together with solute dimerisation can account for the concentration dependence of the ortho-positronium intensity. The other techniques corroborate this hypothesis. This work shows that positrons are suitable probes to study intermolecular association processes
