โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

The techniques of mass spectrometry have been applied to the copolymer from triโ€fluoronitrosomethane (CF~3~NO) and tetrafluoroethylene (C~2~F~4~). The copolymer yields spectra of a repetitive nature, typical of the repeating units in the polymer chain. Molecules with masses up to m/e 6400 can be distilled from the unfractionated polymer which is stable up to 220ยฐC. Interpretation of the mass spectrum suggests a linear structure for the regular polymer.

## Abstract Mass spectra of the volatile fractions from polyperfluorobutโ€2โ€yne have been obtained. The polymer appears to be thermally stable up to 300ยฐC and molecules containing up to 12 monomer units have been identified.
