Abstract

A combination of left‐handed and conventional right‐handed media transmission lines is used in place of conventional right‐handed media transmission lines in a single‐ended dual‐fed distributed amplifier. This approach results in increased bandwidth and circuit size reduction. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The use of so-called "composite left/right-handed transmission lines" in the design of distributed amplifiers is discussed using a simple model for the active device. The simplified analysis performed herein shows that it is possible to modify the frequency response of forward and reverse power gain
