In this paper, Message Passing Interface (MPI) based parallel computation and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm are combined to form the parallel particle swarm optimization (PPSO) method for solving the dynamic optimal reactive power dispatch (DORPD) problem in power systems. In the propo
