โฆ Synopsis
The elect&y& of potassium p-nitrobenzoate in alkaline aqueous solution in a flow electrolytic cell employing a platinum grid porous electrode is described. The composition of the solution after the electrolysis was controlled by means of voltammetry on a platinum wire microelectrode. According to the electrochemical evidence the reduction of potassium p-nitrobenu>ate requires 5 electrons per mole, and probably Ieads to the formation of the potassium salt of p, p'dicarboxyhydrazobenzene.
