✦ Synopsis
The improved RIDE (ring down elimination) sequence is presented that utilizes adiabatic inversion pulses. The most important advantages of the proposed method include the excitation of the broad range of chemical shifts and the B 1 insensitive character of adiabatic inversion pulses. The superior baseline and phase properties of this experiment are demonstrated on the 60 kHz spectral width 17 O NMR spectra. Additionally, the effectiveness of the adiabatic RIDE sequence is demonstrated by acquisition of the natural isotopic abundance 17 O NMR spectrum of gaseous acetone, which is reported for the first time.
