✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this work, we present the application of specially constructed adaptive basis functions to generate a diagonal matrix in the method‐of‐moments solution procedure for the calculation of a scattered electromagnetic field from arbitrarily shaped two‐dimensional cylinders excited by a transverse electric incident electromagnetic wave. Several numerical examples are also presented to validate the new method. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 270–273, 2001.

## Abstract The main theme of this paper is the discussion of a parametrized family of solutions of a finite moment problem for rational matrix‐valued functions in the nondegenerate case. We will show that each member of this family is extremal in several directions concerning some point of the ope
