โฆ Synopsis
Artificial graphites contain carbon structure that originates from a variety of carbonaceous species, which coexist in the microstructure. Thus, artificial graphites are not structurally uniform, and a range of crystallinity may be contained within a single manufactured article. This paper describes an apparatus and procedure for determining the structural and density distribution within a porous artificial graphite. The technique makes use of a standard density-gradient apparatus adapted to separate and recover carbon or graphite particles according to their apparent density [ 1,2]t.
