Ahstrac-Taking the crack opening displacement (COD) as the unknown function and the resultant force as the right hand term (RHD) in the resulting integral equation, a singular integral equation for the circular arc crack problem is formulated. Similarly, taking the jump of the resultant force along
Motivated by the increased use of fibre-reinforced materials, we illustrate how the effective elastic modulus of an isotropic and homogeneous material can be increased by the insertion of rigid inclusions. Specifically, we consider the two-dimensional antiplane shear problem for e strip of material.
This paper deals with the elasto-perfectly plastic antiplane problem of collinear rigid line inclusions in an infinite plane. The plastic region near the tip of the rigid line is studied and an exact solution in closed form is obtained by the methods of Rice and Myskhelishvili.
