✦ Synopsis
An investigation has been made of the antioxidative activity of methylenebisphenols, methylenebis(alkoxyphenols), methylenebisCoyrocateehols) and (3,4-dimcthoxybenzyl)phenols in the stabilization of isotactic polypropylene. Methylenebisphenols appear to be the most active antioxidants if they are appropriately substituted. Methylenebis(pyrocatechols) are the least active, but their activity is improved by partial etherification.
