Dr Michael ~ebek received his Ing. degree in electrical engineering from Czech Technical University, Prague, in 1978 and his CSc. degree (corresponding to Ph.D) in control theory from Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1981. From 1979 he has been with the Institute of Information Theory and Automation, Prague. His current research interests include frequency-domain and state space analysis and design methods for linear control systems, in particular 2-D systems, delay-differential systems and time-varying systems, and algebraic tools for studying these systems such as (matrix) polynomial equations in two variables.
