Abstract
The absolute configuration of thiangazole (1), which was previously derived by chemical degradation, was confirmed by X‐ray structure analysis. Energy minimization with MO and MM2 methods indicate, that the conformation of 1 in the crystal is controlled by crystal forces while various equally preferred conformations may be present in solution.
