β¦ Synopsis
A carbon paste electrode is used for stripping voltammetry of trace iodide in a Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer containing cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTMAB). The electrochemical behavior of 12BrR is described. In a solution containing 0.1 pg/mL iodide, the relative standard deviation for ten determinations is 3.3%, the peak height also varies linearly with the concentration of iodide over the range 0.05-0.25 pg/mL, and the detection limit is 0.03 pg/mL. This method has been used for the determination of iodide in table salt samples with 88-104% recovery.
