✦ Synopsis

The anodic dissolution behavior of the binary single phase alloys CuPd, NiPd and AgAu in 12 M LiCl is being investigated on a rotating disk electrode. Auger electron spectroscopy is employed to study the influence of applied charge on the surface composition of Cu2OPd and Ni2OPd and results are compared to previous data for AgPd alloys. Results show the dissolution mode, selective or simultaneous, to depend on noble metal content. Similarities and differences in the behavior of different alloy systems are discussed.
