Abstract

This paper attempts to define areas throughout which the fluctuation of annual rainfall is relatively uniform. A general pattern is defined on the basis of graphs of ten‐year running means, and a more detailed pattern is presented from a consideration of individual yearly values of exceptionally high and exceptionally low rainfall. A comparison of the results obtained by these two methods is then made to enable the relative validity of the several areas defined to be assessed.
