Announcement and call for papers

1996 AUSTRALASIAN MEETINGS OF THE ECONOMETRIC SOCIETY (ESAM96) The 1996 Australasian Meetings of the Econometric Society will be held at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, from Wednesday 10 July to Friday 12 July 1996. Michael McAleer and Paul Miller are the Program Co-Chairpersons.

The program will consist of invited and contributed papers in economic theory, econometric theory, applied econometrics and finance. The Program Committee is actively seeking papers from researchers in these areas. Prospective contributors are requested to submit 3 hardcopies of an abstract of their paper (which should include up to 3 JEL Classifications), plus 3 hardcopies of the full manuscript to the Program Organizers-ESAM96, by 10 May 1996. No fax submissions will be accepted. Each abstract must contain the name(s) of the author(s), the complete address(es) of the author(s), a contact office telephone number, a contact facsimile number, and an e-mail address. Bound proceedings volumes of all papers accepted for presentation will be available to conference participants upon registration in Perth.

The Meetings are open to all economists and econometricians, including those who are not currently members of the Econometric Society. The three keynote addresses will be the Jacob Marschak Lecture, the A. W. Phillips Lecture, and the Colin Clark Lecture.

Accommodation has been reserved in the halls of residence on the UWA campus, which is about 5 kilometres (3 miles) from Perth city centre. Motel and hotel accommodation can be arranged close to campus. Detailed information on registration and accommodation will be available at a later date, and will be sent to all who submit papers, to Australasian members of the Econometric Society, and to registrants at the ESAM94 in Armidale.
